What is Photography

What is Photography? According to the dictionary, photography is:

1. The art/process of producing images of objects on photosensitive surfaces.
2. The art, practice, or occupation of taking and printing photographs.
3. A body of photographs.

Technically speaking, photography is the process of making images by means of the action of light. Actually, is is the process of recording light as reflected from different objects, onto a sensitive medium through a timed exposure. This is done through mechanical, chemical, and lately digital devices (cameras).

The word "Photography" comes from the Greek words phos ("light") and graphis ("stylus", "paintbrush"), together meaning "drawing with "light" or "representation by means of lines" or "drawing".
